About Us

Our Founder

Bess Wray

Human Touch Home Care, Ltd. was established in 2005. Company founder, Bess Wray, knew that a great majority of seniors wanted to remain in their own homes as they aged and that they could do this with a good support system. Building caring relationships is a key part of the company’s philosophy and its mission, “to empower our clients in their pursuit of safe, happy lives at home.” Bess set out to build a registry of the most competent, dedicated, and carefully screened caregivers to assist her clients. The caregivers referred through the Human Touch registry help with non-medical in-home care. They assist their clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and transferring; they fix meals, do the laundry, and make sure their clients take their medications as prescribed of those going through a recuperative process as well as those with declining physical and mental ability. They provide respite for family members, often enabling family caregivers to keep their jobs or just get a good night’s sleep. Caregivers can be referred for as little as four hours once a week or as much as 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or anything in between.

What Does a Registry Do?

Human Touch Home Care, LTD is a Pennsylvania licensed home care registry of carefully screened Caregivers, serving Philadelphia and surrounding areas since 2005.

  • All of our Clients benefit from having access to the carefully screened Caregivers referred through the registry and Caregivers who can ‘fill-in’ when your regular Caregiver needs time off.

Here are some of the important benefits our Clients receive:

1. A POOL OF COMPETENT CAREGIVERS FROM WHICH TO CHOOSE:

We have a large registry of Caregivers built over a 20 year period, many of these Caregivers have been working through HTHC for 10 or more years.

2. A DEDICATED CARE-COORDINATOR:

You benefit from having an experienced and dedicated professional care-coordinator assigned to you. Your care-coordinator will make the best possible Caregiver referrals to you based on your unique non-medical home care needs. Your care-coordinator refers the Caregivers you like for the hours you need them.

3. THOROUGH SCREENING OF EVERY CAREGIVER:

Our multi-step screening process includes an in-depth face-to-face interview with every prospective Caregiver, background checks, initial and annual health screenings, reference checking and initial and annual screening for competence.
Being a Caregiver is not an easy job, and requires caring, patient and professional individuals who are dedicated to helping older Americans with Activities of Daily Living. We learn from and are humbled by listening to prospective registrants tell us why they want to care for others.

4. COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY:

Your care-coordinator will facilitate communication between you and your Caregivers, and refer a substitute Caregiver if your regular Caregiver needs time off, as long as we are notified in a timely manner. We keep in touch with you periodically to make sure you are happy with your Caregiver schedule, and make any changes you request.

5. 24 HOUR ON-CALL CARE-COORDINATOR AVAILABLE 7 DAYS A WEEK

Our 24-hour On-Call Care-Coordinator will be there to assist you with any emergency pertaining to your non-medical home care needs.

6. PERIODIC HOME VISITS TO GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER
